01. Firefly (The Complete Series) DVD Boxed Set
This is the fantastic tv show that started it all. I bought this originally because it showed up as an item that Amazon.com recommended for me. After reading the reviews, I thought I'd give it a try. FAVORITE TV SHOW EVER! Sort of a western in space, but so much more. Great writing. Great stories. Great characters. Everyone I've ever gotten to watch the series has fallen in love. You will too. A collection of essays from a variety of fandom sources about Firefly. The quality is decidedly mixed BUT the inclusion of a dictionary of the Chinese used on the show is invaluable. (****)06. Serenity: Those Left Behind Graphic Novel by Joss Whedon
Collection of the three comic books that were released to fill in the story between Firefly and Serenity. Great comic artwork. A little sloppy in the story but all in all a worthwhile part of the 'verse. (****)07. Serenity (Widescreen Edition) DVD
I've watched this movie so many times I'd like to say I've lost track. Unfortunately, I haven't lost track...including the 2 times in the theater, I've watched Serenity232425262728 times. It makes me very, very, very happy. (*****)08. Serenity [HD] DVD
One of the first HD DVDs to come out and a great, great addition to the Firefly and Serenity world. (*****)09. Serenity Movie Soundtrack CD
The music in the movie was less epic in scope than one might have expected. But when seen as part of the sound design, the music really did its job. Unfortunately, that doesn't translate well into a soundtrack CD. Still, there are a few quite stunning tracks. Worth owning for just those few. (***)10. Serenity: The Official Visual Companion Book by Joss Whedon
Essential part of the 'verse. Contains an extended interview with Joss and the complete shooting script. Scattered throughout are some interesting production notes. The visuals are fascinating ranging from pre-vis work to movie stills. Highly recommended! (*****)11. Serenity (Movie Novelization) Book by Keith R.A. DeCandido

Compilation of Up and Play and the first GBS recording I owned...hooked me for good. (*****)2. Turn
Many feel that this is stll the best GBS album...I don't agree but it still has some great, great songs. Consequence Free has some interesting lyrics about how we all wish to live. Boston and St. John's continues to grow on me in its stunning beauty. I'm a Rover is just a great party song and totally fun live with GBS. (****)3. Road Rage
GBS live. There's no better way to experience this music than live with hundreds of others shouting out the songs we've all come to know and love. (*****)4. Sea of No Cares
Another great studio release showing even finer work from GBS. Highlights for me are Sea of No Cares, Scolding Wife and A Boat Like Gideon Brown. (****)5. Something Beautiful
A lot of fans were disappointed that there weren't as many traditional songs on this recording as on previous ones. While it is more of a set of "pop" tunes, this is still a great album (and they promised to followup with an all traditional album...which they have...see The Hard and the Easy below). My favorites: When I Am King, Sally Ann, John Barbour and Lucky Me. (****)6. Great Big DVD & CD
GBS live again but this time not just a CD, but a DVD as well. This is an essential purchase for the entire planet. No, really. (*****)7. The Hard & The Easy
This is the much anticipated all trad cd that the fans have all waited for. Who doesn't need a recording entirely devoted to traditional songs of Newfoundland? Need it. Got to have it. No wait. I already do! (*****)8. Courage & Patience & Grit - Great Big Sea In Concert
This is another CD and DVD combo from GBS. This time it's live from the tour supporting The Hard and the Easy. An excellent concert - like all their concerts - but it was clearly towards the end of the tour and Alan is more than a little tired in voice. Not in spirit though! Still a worthwhile addition to the GBS world. (****)
